Ten years ago, a group of parents in Silicon Valley came together to reimagine the public high school experience. This was a bold move given that less than half of all high school students in Silicon Valley graduate with the basic requirements to attend a four-year college, and more than one in five drops out of high school altogether. The opportunity gap between those with a post-secondary degree and those without continues to rapidly grow. And yet, Summit Public Schools’ founding parents imagined a high school that could prepare every single student for college and career success.

Today, Summit Public Schools is a leading charter management organization serving Silicon Valley’s diverse communities. It operates six schools enrolling 1,600 students. Summit’s mission is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to not only attend, but succeed in, a four-year college or university.
